When I started in the wedding industry I was 22 and I had no idea what I wanted to achieve. I knew that weddings made me happy and being surrounded by love and beautiful things was definitely something I could make a career out of. 10 years later, I’m still utterly blown away by the feelings I experience just being in someone’s presence on their wedding day, and if I thought I was in love with love at 22, I didn’t know anything.
Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, I now live in Auckland with my two gorgeous sons Joshua and Aron. My everyday life is full of love and family and the crazy antics that go with them! I am constantly inspired by my surroundings and thankful that I have been able to take my love of all things pretty and create the incredible career that I have! I feel so very blessed to have been given the opportunity to be involved with couples starting such an exciting time in their lives, as I know first hand how wonderful it can be!
After completing my Business Management Diploma I went on to Study Weddings. I now hold a Higher Diploma in Wedding Planning from the Institute of Event Planning and have been a wedding planner and stylist for 10 years. I am constantly learning to improve my craft and hold certificates in Event Experience and Design as well as Event Planning Etiquette and Implementation. I have also attended numerous workshops including the Australian leaders in their field, The Style Co and have recently been invited to join the Destination Wedding Planners Congress.
In 2008 I received my first industry award. In 2012 I joined the Wedding Industry Experts Panel and for the next six years I was voted the Best Event Designer in New Zealand. On a global scale, I placed 6th which was a huge achievement for me. In 2014 I was invited to join the Wedding Industry Experts Honour roll as a service provider who inspires their peers.
As you will see below, I have had the pleasure of having my work featured in numerous publications and wedding blogs, and have been interviewed on Radio NZ as well as assisted with the TVNZ Breakfast Challenge.
Over the years, with lots of trial and error, I’ve grown to know myself as a woman and as a wedding planner and stylist and I hope that I get to know you on this amazing journey you are on.
